New Golden Mile

This 20km stretch of coastline from the bustling town of San Pedro de Alcantara to Estepona itself is known as the New Golden Mile. Inspired by its nearby famous neighbour, the New Golden Mile is peppered full of prestigious urbanisations, exclusive new developments, luxury five-star hotels, sprawling villas and world-renowned golfing resorts.

The area has grown exponentially in popularity over the years and has quickly become known as the new luxury lifestyle destination on the Costa del Sol. Properties here offer unobstructed views out to the Mediterranean, as well as Morocco and Gibraltar, as well as acting as a fantastic base to the rest of the Costa del Sol, due to its close proximity to both Gibraltar and Malaga airports. If you’re wanting a slice of heaven, you’ll find it here.

Estepona Old Town

Take a walk through Estepona’s Old Town and experience Spain from years gone by. Explore the narrow, cobbled streets decorated with colourful geraniums, dip into one of the quaint shops to buy some local goods or make your way around the tapas bars gathered in the small plazas. The properties in this area are typically of a traditional Andalucian style, taking inspiration from Andalucía’s former Arab roots. If you’re looking for a house project, this style of property makes a fantastic investment and one which has great potential to provide a solid rental income, where you’ll benefit from the high numbers of tourists visiting each year, especially given its very central location.

If you prefer new builds, then fear not as over the past few years many new developments have sprung up, offering contemporary living in the heart of the town, providing the perfect lock up and leave holiday homes. With various sized apartments and penthouses, may developments also boast on-site facilities such as rooftop swimming pools and sundeck, gyms and co-working spaces too.

Estepona West

To the west of Estepona you’ll find the thriving areas of La Duquesa and San Luis de Sabinillas straddling the sun-soaked coastline, close to the inland village of Manilva. Perhaps surprisingly to some, this area is a hub of activity for the Western Costa del Sol, despite the area still holding on to its old fishing village past.

The Port of Duquesa is a perfect location for an evening stroll or drink, and the paseo (boardwalk) allows for beachside walking that stretches all the way to Casares and beyond. The area feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of holiday resorts on the rest of the Costa del Sol, making it an ideal location to set up your home in Spain.

If you’re looking to invest in a new life in the sun, or if you’re wanting to set up a base for your holidays on the Costa del Sol, we highly recommend adding Estepona to your list of potential locations. With so much going on in the area and its beneficial links to the rest of the Costa del Sol, you’ll find an incredible mix of everything here in Estepona.
