The IDILIQ Group has come a long way since founder Roy Peires opened his first resort on the Costa del Sol in 1984 – a vastly different landscape to the one we see today in 2022. 1984
The very first resort, Las Farolas, in Mijas Costa, is opened on the Costa del Sol.
1986
Two years later, after the success of Las Farolas, Marina del Sol becomes the second resort under the IDILIQ name. Later in the year, the innovative Benal Beach resort in Benalmadena opens its doors, taking the Idiliq resort portfolio to three on the Costa del Sol.
1993
Powering on with the expansion, the Sierra Marina resort in Mijas Costa is opened to the public.
1995
Marina del Rey becomes the 5th resort on the Costa del Sol and later on in the year, Las Farolas Royale bumps the portfolio up to 6.
1998
San Diego suites enters the game as the first California Beach branded resort on the Costa del Sol, offering something new to holidaymakers.
1999
Fundacíon IDILIQ (formerly known as the Smile Foundation) is set up to support charitable work carried out on both the Costa del Sol and in Tenerife.
2000
The dawn of the new millennium brought with it the expansion of the Duchally Country Estate in Scotland. Beautiful new holiday lodges are built to compliment the surroundings.
2001
From the Costa del Sol to Bonny Scotland, IDILIQ changes course only slightly, to open its first resort in Tenerife – called Sunningdale Village.
2003
Just two short years later, a second resort, Paradise, also opens in Tenerife. Later followed by a third resort, Monterey, to form part of its expansion.
2004
On the 20th Anniversary of IDILIQ, and in a switch up from the sunshine shores of the Costa del Sol, the stunning Alpine Centre throws open its doors in Austria.
2005
A quick return to the Costa del Sol sees the second California Beach Resort open at the Santa Cruz suites.
2006
IDILIQ’s first UK resort is crowned as the Trenython Manor in Cornwall, followed by a quick hop back to the Canary Islands to welcome the 4th resort, Monterey Royale, in Tenerife. Phew!
2007
2007 marks the very first IDILIQ real estate development at the Malibu Mansions on the Costa del Sol, paving the way for future developments in the area.
2009
Still enjoying life in the sun, IDILIQ branches out from Spain and enters the Turkish market, opening Apollonium Spa & Beach in Bozbuk Bay, Turkey.
2010
In a bold move, the first US development is announced: Encantada in Orlando, Florida, just 5 miles from the world-renowned Walt Disney World.
2012
A second Turkish adventure sees Kusadasi Golf & Spa become IDILIQ’s first residential golf resort in the portfolio.
2015
Following the roaring success of Encantada in Orlando Florida, the second resort, Royal Oaks, opens its doors. Later in the year, Ramada Residences in Bozbük Bay (Turkey) opens for business too.
2016
The Signature Collection is launched.
2020
Despite a difficult year across the world, Santa Barbara Heights on the Costa del Sol reaches completion.
2022
The very latest development by IDILIQ is announced and subsequently launched – The Royal Marbella Golf Resort.
